Excited MUCH MUCH MUCH ย to share about our trip to Coron, Palawan ๐Ÿ™‚

August 19, 2012 via Cebu Pacific, we departed from NAIA 3 Airport. I am very impressed with the facilities of our new airport. There were shuttle buses that goes around the airport on a regular intervals. Long escalators. Neat surroundings. Clean toilet rooms. More shops and additional restos ๐Ÿ™‚

Thinking… we were the first to ride the bus…but the fact is, we were the last to ride the plane

Shuttle bus of Cebu Pacific

Here we are, after 45 minutes of flight, We can almost see the astounding view of the islands of coron.

The beauty of nature

It was my first time to visit the town and I have heard of great feedbacks about it… lush green forests , clear blue lakes , tempting white sand beaches and beautiful corals …

Just landed at the Busuanga Airport

Upon arrival at the Busuanga airport there were available Fx and Vans waiting outside that costs 150php per person. We travel around 30 minutes to reach Coron town…

Scary Bridges

Passing through the scary bridges, I noticed that they were not concrete and some were not yet repaired, I just hope that the local government would allot funds for the construction of these bridges since Palawan has been one the tourist spots in the country.

As we reached our lodging house, Coron Reef Pension, it feels homelike, people sitting around chatting and enjoying the warm breeze from the blue sea . By the way I recommend Coron Reef Pension since it is affordable and cheap, it only costs us 600php per night. You may book thru, the room is inclusive of bed, extra bed, fan, air-con and your own toilet and bath but don’t expect wi-fi connection. (and it is not as cozy as hotel rooms)

Few hours later, our adventure began. We started climbing the famous Mt. Tapyas with approximately 718 steps (kaloooooka). The footย was just few steps away from Coron Reef.

Mt. Tapyas

View from the top.. Almost there…

CROSS at the Mt. Tapyas peak

It was exhausting to climb but relaxing and fulfilling when you reach the top. The panoramic view of the town is very de-stressing and worth the leg cramps.

So, to sum up the expenses for the first day / person …

Airfare : 1,100 php ( Cebu Pacific Promo Fare )

Van to Coron town: 150php

Lodging House: 1,200php ( for 2 nights )

Mt. Tapyas Trekking : Free (no need for transpo)

…… of 2,450php…..

Second Day is the island hopping day and here is our itinerary

OPTION 1 – our itinerary ๐Ÿ™‚

By the way, thanks to the accommodating staff of Coron Reef Pension who referred us to a travel and tour agency nearby. We were surprised on how they had been so nice to us. The trip will be joining trip since we are only 2 and it would be expensive for us if we will rent a private boat. Our trip only costs us 650php which includes boat rental, entrance fees, lunch, and tour guide.

Luckily (for us) the sun did not shine so well which caused the other passengers of our boat to cancel their tour and we ended up like we paid for a private boat. Yey! Just the two of us ๐Ÿ™‚

Here’s our boat…and i’m starting to feel the cool breeze of Coron.

For our first destination… We will be diving and snorkeling in Siete Picados …

It is abundant in coral reefs , friendly colorful fishes and one of the famous snorkeling spots.

Beautiful small islands

But be careful on sea urchins there were plenty of them waiting for your feet to touch their thorns.

Underwater shot – trying to catch nemo ๐Ÿ™‚

There! one of the divers caught a fish (He has some resemblance to Sim-Simi !)

Second plunge is at the Twin peek reef.

dive & swim galore ๐Ÿ˜€

There we go! Snorkeling and swimming with the friendly fishes. ๐Ÿ™‚

Our third stop is at the Banol Beach … It’s a small island andย just one of the many white sand beaches you can find on the island of Coron.ย Perfect for picnic! We had our lunch there which was prepared by our guides kuya 1 and kuya 2. Perfect for photoshoot too! Amazing! Breath taking view! Love it!

our lunch ๐Ÿ™‚

Amazing view

Heading to our fourth destination…The Skeleton shipwreck.

We can actually see from afar without plunging into the water theย colorful and lovely schools of fishes (not yet the shipwreck).

Our guide gave us some fried fish from our earlier lunch to feed them.

After that excitement, we decided to explore the area and visit the small cottage nearby.

View near the Skeleton shipwreck

Shoot! Unfortunately I was stung by a jellyfish. and Babe. and our tour guide. I scream in pain! so we weren’t able to continue and check the famous shipwreck skeleton. oh that’s so harsh.

Jellyfish sting ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

It looks so calm but its too dangerous that it caused me pain, skin rashes and muscle cramps. Our guide pour some vinegar into the swollen area (back of my right leg), to relieve the pain. This is really a remarkable thing brought by our visit in Coron.

My own boat

Unluckily, I was forced to return to our boat using a canoe and its paddle. Thanks to the small boy in the area who has this.

Moving on to our fifth island, it was known to be CYC Island.

CYC island

CYC Island

They say that CYC Island was the last remaining public island in coron. It has fine white sand too and clear waters. Natural mangroves are abundant in the island.

CYC at the background – Me & Babe

Heading now to our sixth destination, the Coral Gardens.

One thing I love about traveling is the element of surprise that comes with every new place being explored. I wish I was able to capture perfectly the beauty my eyes had seen. Sorry for some blurry pics.

Under water shot

I am so stunned with the colorful corals I have seen beneath the water.

It was late in the afternoon and we are about to reach our last destination. The famous Twin Lagoon.

If only I could freeze the time, I don’t want the minutes to mark or the seconds to walk. I want to be freezed in these stunningly beautiful work of GOD.

I feel so close to Twin Lagoon

Here we are so close. This is the other lagoon were boats parked . You have to cross the narrow opening to reach Twin Lagoon ๐Ÿ™‚

You have to cross this narrow ladder to reach Twin Lagoon ๐Ÿ™‚

view of the lagoon from the narrow entrance

It is indeed stunning and breath taking. The water is cool and lush green plants and trees cling to the sides of the gray limestone cliffs.

the lagoon

I want to savor every moment

This is the under water tunnel used to cross one lagoon to another

Time rushes on regardless of whether or not we are ready to leave. I wish I had the ability to freeze the time and stay there longer. It is a place of momentary peace.ย The tranquil water really makes it an unforgettable adventure for us.

Thanks to kuya 1 for being a great tour guide

Thanks to Kuya 2 for driving us the whole day ๐Ÿ™‚

Since it has been a day filled activities for us. We requested the accommodating staff of Coron Reef to cook dinner for us. They only charged us for 180php per person.

Dinner is served. ๐Ÿ™‚

….. So for our second day budget ……..

Option 1 whole day tour / person : ย 650php

Dinner/ person : 180php

….. total of 830php for Second day ……

Third day is our last day in Coron. We wanted to avail the option 2 itinerary because we haven’t been to the famous Kayangan Lake and Barracuda lake but we hesitated since our flight is at 4pm and we should be there at the airport 2 hours before our flight.

So we decided to roam around the town, visit the public market nearby and bought some pasalubong.

dried fish at the market

After an hour or two, we head back to Coron reef, had a quick shower and change of clothes then started packing up our things for our flight back to Manila. We aren’t yet ready to leave the town, we enjoyed every minute in Coron. I must say it was really an experience of paradise at it’s finest. But what can I do, time flew so fast and we have to say Adios.

Heading to the airport…

Zai Jian Coron ๐Ÿ™‚ Laters …

Adios Coron … Hasta la vista ๐Ÿ™‚

Until our next trip to Coron ย ๐Ÿ™‚ Hasta la vista baby ๐Ÿ™‚

Sad to leave coron … We will try to be back soon …

JULY is my month – Cheers!

HBD ๐Ÿ™‚

July is my month – yipeeee or yiiiikees? ย I must say am a bit confused. Confused on how to accept the FACT that I am now on the 26th year of my existence. Can I just stay on my 25th? (Sige na please) or 24th? or even younger? I don’t wanna get old :/

…Uuhhh …. Ttttsssss…

But since it’s a ritual in our fam to celebrate our birthday by all means ย , Sige na nga let’s celebrate na! Hahaha.

Sunday night – – – when we had a simple dinner at President’s Tea house in Nova with Mama, Angelo (my shoti), Ren and me ๐Ÿ™‚

@Presidents Tea House

Ren bought a mocha cake for me. Uuuhhh how sweet! Thank you ๐Ÿ™‚ hihi.

We eat a lot.

Yummy Roasting Combination

Chit Chat a lot.

Thank you kuya ๐Ÿ™‚ Sabi ni mama ” Tara Sumali ka dito kasi bawal ang tatlo sa ficture “

Yellow Boy

And when the dinner was about to end and while Angeloย was trying to figure out how to tie the ribbon for the cake, few words came out (nahihirapan na daw kasi sya at paulit ulit sya sa pagtatali.)ย ” Practice makes perfect! gggeeessh . But, nobody is perfect. So, why practice? “. Halllerrrr . Aba at kumi Kimi-Dora pa si brother. Haha! Kaloka sa comment!

I was dazzled with the feeling of being with my lovies that night,ย I really enjoyed it (namiss ko din kasi sila). It was a simple yet funny and memorable night for me.

The next day was really my DAY (the 23rd of July).

Guama and I had a cute lunch, some chit chats and a few shots ๐Ÿ™‚

Guama ” Sayang ang film ” hihihi ๐Ÿ™‚

Then, I rushed to Dannys to slightly pamper myself before heading to Trinoma to partly celebrate my day with my long time high school friends andย because someone texted us, and said ” Uy mag meet tayo may problema ako”.

It’s pamper time

Kristal (in blue and in glasses too. unintentional.) and Kenneth (holding the cam) at Happy Lemon while waiting for the others. Excited much for our dinner date and intrigued with the problem of this someone who texted us “na may problema sya”.

@Happy Lemon

At last. After waiting for almost 3 hours… Here we are, ready for our dinner date at Mann Hann. Kenneth (in purple,long-sleeves), Vera (in yellow), Loraine (the preggy in blue), Christian (Loraine’s hubby. in blue too), April (Kristal’s fiance. slightly in blue too), Kristal (in blue and with glasses too), me (of course in blueย and with glasses too), and Ren (in blue too).

A series of small serendipities. Glasses . Blue thing.

At Mann Hann

We ordered and eat a lot.

Ken and Vera ๐Ÿ™‚

Christian & Loraine

Chit Chat a lot. As usual, the main purpose of the meeting wasn’t achieved. Haha. There’s no problem. Or if there is, it’s just a not-so-serious thingy, or maybe a trivia? and am pretty sure SHE can handle that. ย ๐Ÿ™‚

Sleepy April & Kristal hihi

Ren & Me ๐Ÿ™‚

And now, TENEN! a surprise for me ๐Ÿ™‚ Ooohhh, Women loved flowers so much! Thanks Babe.

Tenen! Flowers for me ๐Ÿ™‚

I thought we’ll call it a night. But wait there’s more … Piano Notes ” Happy Birthday , Iloveyou Baby ” …

Piano notes?

I’m so proud and lucky to have a sweet partner like HER ๐Ÿ™‚ (pakiss nga)

And the LAST but not the least… A WOW surprise for me. Let’s call the red gadget as ” Baby Lumeey “.

Thanks Babe! I never had a single idea about this. You always took me by surprise. I love you. Again Happy Birthday to me ๐Ÿ™‚

P.S. Though am a bit stressed with my age. I still want to thank GOD for all the blessings he has given me and my family.
